NIESV intensify efforts to fight quackery in real estate

The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers(NIESV), Lagos State branch, has intensified moves to end quackery in the real estate profession. One of the recent moves was the launch of a website where all accredited estate surveyors and valuers would have their profiles and products displayed. During the unveiling of the website at a business luncheon in Lagos, the Chairman of the NIESV Marketing Division, Mr. Sam Eboigbe, explained that it would help clients to identify genuine practitioners. He expressed regret that non-professionals were damaging the image of the profession, adding that the website was not launched to compete with other online marketing outlets.

Eboigbe said, “The multiple listing service website has been packaged for accredited professionals to ensure that we engage with the buyers of real estate products. Before now, we have been attacked and given all kinds of names because of quacks in the profession. But today, we have a platform where we can genuinely identify the professionals who do the service. “There is nothing like competition with other online platforms; we have just come out to position ourselves more professionally and ensure that we serve our customers all over Nigeria and abroad qualitatively. They are not afraid of dealing with professionals who are regulated by law.”
