Oru West Local Government Area (LGA) is one of the 27 LGAs in Imo State, Nigeria. It is located in the southeastern part of Nigeria and shares borders with other LGAs in Imo State such as Njaba, Orlu, and Oru East. The headquarters of Oru West LGA is situated in the town of Mgbidi. Oru West LGA has a population of over 120,000 people, and it is predominantly inhabited by the Igbo ethnic group. The area is known for its rich cultural heritage, and it is home to several traditional festivals such as the New Yam festival, the Ahiajoku festival, and the Ikeji festival.
