Qua’an Pan is located in the southern part of Plateau State and shares borders with Langtang North Local Government Area to the east, Mikang Local Government Area to the south, Shendam Local Government Area to the west, and Wase Local Government Area to the north.

According to the National Population Commission, Qua’an Pan has an estimated population of 205,752 people as of 2021. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people in Qua’an Pan. The area is known for the production of crops such as yams, cassava, rice, and maize. Qua’an Pan has several primary and secondary schools. The area is also home to the Plateau State College of Agriculture, which is located in Garkawa.
