Africa Real Estate Conference & Awards ’18 (AFRECA)

The African Real Estate Conference & Awards (AFRECA), an initiative of PropertyPro.ng, a member of the ToLet Property Group, was held at Landmark event centre, Lagos on 28th August 2018. AFRECA’18 was centred on the theme; GROWING AFRICAN CITIES: THE RESHAPING MODEL. The event featured a conference, exhibitions and awards with Stephen Ipalibo-Lawson as the official host of the ceremony. 

Real estate professionals, enthusiasts, investors and government representatives from different parts of the world were in attendance to deliberate on how to reshape the African real estate sector. The event was structured in such that there were different presenters for each session of plenary discussions. After which other speakers in that section joins the presenter who moderates the section.

The welcome address was given by the CEO and co-founder of ToLet Property Group, Fikayo Ogundipe. The keynote speaker His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode represented by Hon. Prince Gbolahan Lawal (Commissioner for Works & Housing, Lagos State) gave the keynote address, highlighting that the present government is doing everything possible to ensure that the real estate sector experiences multifaceted growth. 

Topics addressed at the conference was based on the role of government and private sector in sustainable and equitable housing, automated security solutions for residential developments, optimising real estate funding to create a favourable investment climate in Africa, the importance of risk management and insurance in re-shaping cities and boosting investor confidence, housing policies in Africa, urban planning and transformation and impact of paints industry on real estate production.

Keynote presentations were made by top key players in the real estate sector; Femi Akintunde (CEO Alphamaed Group), Engr. Mustapha Lusty (CEO Kontz Engineering), Dr Olufemi Seyi (CEO Casafina), Adegbenga Fashola (Director/Chief Development Officer, Cube Square Concepts Limited), Godwin Okri (Menvo Limited) and Gbenga Subaru (Head of Sales and Marketing, Berger Paints).

Each plenary discussion experienced the wealth of experience and deep thoughts from speakers who delivered their presentations effectively.
