Amaeshi in Anambra State. It is a small town in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. It is located about 75 kilometers southeast of the state capital, Awka. Amaeshi is a relatively young town, founded in the 17th century by a group of Igbo people who migrated from the nearby town of Nkpologwu. The town is named after its founder, Eshi, who was a descendant of Eri, the legendary founder of the Igbo people.
