Text: Temitope Adereni

After a 14-year break, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveiled the 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII reckoned to be the Rolls-Royce of all Rolls Royces. In a tireless pursuit of excellence, aesthetic acuity and deep understanding of what a luxury object should look like, this Rolls-Royce Phantom has been dubbed as one of the best cars in the world. The long-awaited arrival of Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII did set a new benchmark for luxury cars earning the name ‘Architecture of Luxury’ with an all aluminium space frame chassis. This frame alone offer an acoustic calm, comfort ride and interior sense of space.

The height of luxuriousness infused into the new phantom model replicates a flying experience rather than a driving one without actually getting airborne. Well, this time, Rolls-Royce ditched their old V12 for a twin turbo unit responsible for the way the phantom propels itself forward. According to Rolls-Royce, the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII is lighter and 30% stiffer than the previous model. Needless to say, the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII highlights class, quality and characteristic finish

“The height of luxuriousness infused into the new phantom model replicates a flying experience rather than a driving one without actually getting airborne.”

With a close resemblance to the previous Phantom models, Phantom VIII has a long bonnet, short front overhang and an upright front end, set-back passenger compartment, long wheelbase as well as a flowing rear end. Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII has a more rounded and sleeker appearance than the previous model, presenting an aerodynamic appearance. It pops with an elixir of a youth.

The interior of this awe-inspiring machine looks like a theatre, offering every sense of grandeur. Passengers are welcomed first by the coach doors into a bespoke haven that accentuates expensive accessories, hand-stitched light constellations, custom colours and a wealth of other materials. The unparalleled level of uniqueness of the infotainment system in this luxury car features a disguised version of BMW’s iDrive system.

… and man made beast and he saw it was good.
