It had been observed that less than 30 percent of students were being accommodated in the school Hostels while the boy's hostel is located in the nearest town (Ikare) to Akungba Akoko where the school is located

As a result of this, accommodation off-campus has become a source of great income to the whole community whereby the Indigenes rent out most of their apartments to students and while some developers have seen Hostel off-campus as a great business in the community.
Now presently the Hostels built-in of campus in Akungba is over 3000 (total number is not yet confirmed)
