Aniocha South is a Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Ogwashi-Uku. The communities that make up the Local Government Area are Abah Unor, Adonte, Ashama, Egbudu-Akah, Ejeme-Aniogor, Ejeme-Unor, Ewulu, Isheagu (comprising Onuiyi, Atuakpai and Obikwere), Ogwashi Uku (comprising Oloh, Isah, Azagba, Igbudu), Nsukwa, Ubulu-Okiti, Ubulu-Ukwu, Ubulu-Unor, Ukwu-Oba and Umute.

Aniocha South has an area of 868 square kilometres (335 sq mi) and a population of 140,604 according to the 2006 census.The major occupation of the people of Aniocha South is farming. The major crops grown in the area are cassava, yam, maize, plantain, and vegetables. The people also engage in fishing, trading, and petty businesses.

Aniocha South is a predominantly Christian area. The major Christian denominations in the area are the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Church, and the Pentecostal churches.The major traditional rulers in Aniocha South are the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, the Obi of Ubulu-Ukwu, and the Obi of Nsukwa. Aniocha South is a relatively peaceful area. However, the area has been affected by a number of oil spills in recent years.

The major challenges facing Aniocha South are: High poverty rate, Lack of infrastructure, Lack of education and healthcare, Environmental degradation, Conflicts between farmers and herders. Despite these challenges, Aniocha South is a vibrant and resilient community. The people of Aniocha South are working to improve their lives and make their community a better place.
