Enugu South Local Government Area (LGA) is one of the seventeen LGAs in Enugu State, Nigeria. It is located in the southeastern part of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the city of Enugu, the capital of Enugu State.

The population of Enugu South LGA is estimated to be over 500,000 people, and the area is predominantly inhabited by the Igbo ethnic group. The LGA is divided into several wards, including Uwani, Ogui, Achara Layout, Asata, and New Haven.

Enugu South LGA is a major commercial and administrative center in Enugu State, with several businesses, industries, and government offices located within its borders. It is also home to several tourist attractions, including the Enugu State Museum, the Polo Park Mall, and the Murtala Muhammed Park. The LGA is served by several major roads, including the Enugu-Onitsha expressway and the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway, which makes it easily accessible to other parts of the state and the country at large.

In terms of governance, Enugu South LGA is headed by a democratically elected Chairman and a council consisting of elected councillors who represent the various wards in the LGA.
