Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area is a suburban area located in Lagos State, Nigeria. It was created in 2003 by the administration of former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The area covers a landmass of approximately 135.8 square kilometers and has a population of over 1 million people, according to the National Population Commission

Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area is also home to several residential neighborhoods, including Festac Town, Satellite Town, and Mile 2 Estate. These neighborhoods are known for their well-planned layouts, modern infrastructure, and amenities such as schools, hospitals, shopping centers, and recreational facilities.

Amuwo Odofin is located in the Badagry Division of Lagos state. The Amuwo area is often regarded as Festac extension as they lie close to each other and only divided mainly by a bridge. Equally, there are military formations such as the Ojo Military Cantonment and Navy Base located within the Local Government area. The State Security Service (SSS), Customs, Immigration, Prisons Service and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency are all represented in the Local Government area.

A few neighbourhoods in Amuwo Odofin are Satellite Town, Agboju, Festac Town, Alakija and Amuwo.
